4 Non-Negotiable Rules for Snake Safety
Proper Clothing Protection
NO shorts or flip-flops! Wear long pants and mid-to-high-top boots. Snakes almost always bite the limbs — physical barrier protection is your most reliable defense.
Trail Scouting Technique
In tall grass, rock piles or low-visibility areas, tap the ground and vegetation ahead with a hiking pole or stick to alert snakes. Snakes naturally fear humans and will retreat if warned in advance.
Avoid High-Risk Zones
Do not linger in damp, shaded, overgrown areas — these are the primary habitats where snakes are most active.
If Chased by a Snake
DO NOT RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE! Move in a zig-zag pattern to quickly create distance between you and the snake.
Remember: Never provoke, never approach, always stay protected.
To all my outdoor lovers — safety always comes first!
